More than 40 business leaders from across the Hudson Valley attended Marist's annual Hudson Valley Scholars Reception on Thursday, October 5, 2006. This reception gave them the opportunity to meet the students who will benefit directly from their contributions to the Hudson Valley Scholars Program.
Student scholar Alyson Dodge '07, spoke on behalf of all student scholars and thanked the local businesses for investing their time and financial support. She graciously acknowledged their commitment to Marist students and asked the local leaders to continue their generous support this year.
The 2007 Hudson Valley Scholars Campaign is being led again by co-chairs, Richard K. Whalen, DDS, a practicing dentist in Poughkeepsie and Maureen Cairl, sales associate for Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. They are assisted by 23 local business volunteers to reach a goal of $155,000.
