Vice President of Admission and Enrollment Planning

Sean P. Kaylor

Sean was appointed Vice President of Admission and Enrollment Planning on August 1, 1998, and was initially responsible for the Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid offices. Since then, Sean's role at the college has increased, and he is now responsible for Traditional Undergraduate Enrollment (TUE), Graduate and Adult Enrollment(GAE), Student Financial Services (SFS, financial aid and the bursar), and Enrollment Marketing Communication (EMC).

Under his leadership, the traditional undergraduate applicant pool has grown from 5,704 in 1998 to 9,187 in 2008. This represents a 61% increase over ten years. In addition, the percentage of students accepted has gone from 54.1% in 1998 to 37% in 2008. During this time, the academic quality of the incoming freshman class has improved significantly, and over 50% of the class comes from outside New York State.

Since assuming responsibility for GAE (summer 2007), Marist has experienced solid growth. Credit hours for the summer of 2008 increased 9.5%; new graduate fall enrollment increased 24%; and adult undergraduate enrollment increased 2.1%.

Sean also chairs the Integrated Marketing Communication Group (IMC) that deals with institutional branding and the Program Development Team (PDT), which focuses on new program opportunities within the graduate and adult areas. He is also an active member of the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling and currently serves as Past President.
